Created for my Masters in Digital Media Arts (University of Brighton), I converted a broken ukulele into a digital instrument which could hold 5 samples and be performed by covering the light sensors on the fret board.

It contains an Arduino, a Wave Shield from Ladyada.net, 5 LDR’s and other various circuitry.

An SD card holds the mp3’s and are changeable so that you can programme the LDR’s to play.. well anything. I chose to use samples of my voice.

The ukulele has its own speaker and pitch shift control but can be plugged into pedals and amp to do much more.
